Why we farm
We’re Ross and Amanda Ellis-Thurber; the third generation of this family to work on and with this land, 600 conserved acres in the Ames Brook valley. Our land is conserved through the Vermont Land Trust to ensure its usage as a farm and its continued sustainability for future generations. Above us is Round Mountain, which has a steep but “worth it!” trail to the top with views for the Connecticut River Valley. We are a diversified farm: Certified organic dairy, vegetables, fruit, flowers, bedding plants, as well as offering hay, timber, firewood, and Christmas trees. There is a lot that goes into what we do, and make no mistake, this is very much a working farm. Please do be careful and mind the mud, moos, and manure.
